Individual Services

Initial Consultation (approximately 1 hour with student)....................................................... Free (within radius above)

Discovery dialog with the student to gather information relevant to current academic and extracurricular profile; nature of future academic and career goals; level of self awareness in regards to strengths, challenges and interests; and to assess the status of the student’s current level of college search and post-secondary knowledge, resulting in a formal recommendation for the next steps to be taken. Travel outside a 20  mile radius of Loveland, Ohio will be charged at the standard effective Federal Mileage rate, currently 55.5 cents per mile.

Shift into College Mode (approximately 1.5 hours with student)........................................... $75.00

Families and students often operate on myths and misconceptions of the college search process and overall collegiate experience.  This can result in critical missteps, increased stress and procrastination.  Bring a new voice to the discussion.  Based on nearly twenty five years experience working with students and families this session will help debunk the myths, answer questions and provide the foundation for taking the next steps in the college search. 


Get Focused (approximately 3 hours with student).................................................................. $200.00

Now that you are in College Mode, it is time to focus your priorities and interests on a college search strategy. Building on the results on the Initial Consultation, we will conduct an in-depth, targeted personal interview with the student to discover family academic history, detailed individual academic history, special needs, collegiate interests and priorities, academic options (i.e. specific types of institutions, fields of study, co-curricular activities) and specific techniques to a thorough college search.

Based on the information gathered, the student will receive a Co-Curricular Resume to be used during the College Admissions Application Process.

 

Major Skills (approximately 5 hours with Student).................................................................. $250.00

Skills, interests and aptitudes are the building blocks to academic major discovery.  This combination of some of our most popular services (Career Interest Assessment and Skill Exploration) will assist the student in choosing a direction toward a college major, minor and or concentration while learning about their personal strengths, weaknesses and gaining tips on facing the challenges ahead.

 

Career Interest Assessment (approximately 3 hours with student)....................................... $225.00

The average college student changes their academic major up to three times during their undergraduate career.  For some, this can pose challenges to their graduation time line and their finances in the form of transfers, loss of college credits and missed scholarship opportunities. This service includes the John Holland’s Self Directed Search, CFKR Major-Minor Finder, Personal Style Inventory and targeted career development discussion based upon results of assessments.


Skill Exploration (approximately 2 hours with student).......................................................... $125.00

Everyone has skills and strengths. This session will conduct a formal skill assessment, review of the student’s reported strengths, challenges and their application to career development.  Student will receive a written summary of the findings.


Financial Aid Fundamentals
(Does Not Include Financial Planning Advice) ......................... $100.00
Explanation of the Financial Aid Process including history, purpose, regulations and procedures concerning the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); both the Federal and Institutional Need Analysis Process and how they affect the Expected Family Contribution (EFC); the College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile, the concept and uses of Professional Judgment by the Financial Aid Officer; the differences between Need and Merit Based Aid, Loan Types and Federal, State and Institution Aid; direct and indirect costs of college enrollment and suggested questions for the Financial Aid Office.  Limited FAFSA troubleshooting and assistance in comparison of Financial Aid Packages from accepted schools.

Decision Assistance (3 initial schools, add $75 per additional school)................................... $225.00
Some students already have an idea of select schools in which they are interested in enrolling. This service is designed to assist in comparing and contrasting those college choices.  Support, resources, advice and targeted questions are provided to encourage deeper reflection of options and likelihood for academic, professional and personal success at each institution.

Going Greek (approximately 1 hour with student).................................................................... $50.00

There are many myths and misconceptions surrounding fraternities and sororities.  For the student considering joining a Greek organization, this discussion provides an overview of the pros and cons; explanation of the affiliation process; definition of common terms, organizational types and suggested questions to ask.

On-call support for college search and/or collegiate life concerns via phone, email and local in person, when necessary.   Advice on questions to ask and specific administrators, faculty and/or departments to seek out during specific times of confusion, indecision and frustration prior to and during college enrollment and attendance.
